Almost every MBA student (regardless of what school they will attend) plans to leave their job several months before entering business school in the fall. Why? To make the most of their last "summer vacation" before beginning business school in the fall. While some tackle pre-MBA internships to gain an edge or explore new career options, others backpack through Europe, South America, or Asia for several weeks in order to have a fun time while broadening their cultural perspectives.
The objectives of this trip include:
1) Cultural: obtain a "global perspective" through cultural immersion and gain a true appreciation for diversity and different ways of life;
2) Social: network with other students, alumni, and "locals" while having a great time before orientation week starts in late August!
3) Professional: visit with executives and alumni at various organizations in order to identify market opportunities and witness the changes caused by globalization;
We recognize that you have your own unique plans and objectives for this summer. You have various obligations and interests. That's why we have made this tour flexible and available for everyone to enjoy in their own capacity.
